Washington (CNN) – Reformers elated by President-elect Donald Trump’s new tough ban on lobbying after serving in his administration can just as quickly find a reason to be disappointed.
Swept from power, Democratic leaders in Washington and the states are increasingly nervous that the best-case scenario fight for the chairmanship of the Democratic National Committee will be a long, ugly redux of the Hillary Clinton vs. Bernie Sanders primary.

Not only Republicans think voter fraud is a problem.
A Washington Post analysis of Pollfish data shows that 84 percent of Republicans, 52 percent of Democrats, and 75 percent of independents believe that a “meaningful amount” of voter fraud occurs during elections.
Sixty percent of Republicans believe that illegal immigrants are voting, much higher than Democrats and independents.
Democrats focus more on voter ID laws, with 32 percent suggesting that it contributes to voter suppression. (Only 26 percent of Republicans feel the same way.)
But 30 percent of Republicans and 27 percent of Democrats agree that voter suppression occurs by purging eligible voters from the registration rolls.
Hillary Clinton solicited a $12 million donation from a government that her State Department considered corrupt, then realized the “mess” it would cause in her presidential run, a newly leaked email reveals. (more…)
