The U.S. House of Representatives recently handed another win to President Donald Trump after a failed vote to nullify President Donald Trump’s veto of a resolution that would end his national emergency declaration.
In order to override Trump’s national emergency the House needed a two-thirds majority vote, which they fell short of with a vote of 248-181.
The result is another accomplishment for Donald Trump, showing that Republican lawmakers are willing to rally behind him. Although there where a few dissenters.
Republican Reps. Justin Amash, Greg Walden and Thomas Massie broke ranks to vote with Democrats.
While this is good news for President Trump, it is not the end of the fight. Democrats will likely now move the issue to the courtroom in order to continue to hassle the president and his objectives for national security.
