The problem of socialism continues to grow and it is being evidenced once again by stunning statements made by New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.
While exploring a possible campaign for the 2020 elections, De Blasio shared with an audience in Nevada the he supported an economic system that would foster the “actual redistribution” of wealth.
The admission came while De Blasio was addressing questions about possible reparations for African Americans. “There’s no question that the issue of reparations has to be taken seriously,” he said. “I do believe the way to do it is to form a very public commission and say, ‘What is the way to address this problem once and for all?'”
That’s when De Blasio decided to take things further suggesting a “bigger discussion about income inequality and oppression of other groups including Latinos, Native Americans, Asian and women.”
“I think we’re going to need something bigger even in a way, broader even in a way, then some of the ideas that have been put out there,” De Blasio said. “I think a program of actual redistribution which includes much heavier taxes on the wealthy.”
“The ultimate resolution has to be profoundly economic,” he stated.
He was certainly right that the effect would be “profound,” although likely not in a positive way.
