A federal court in Alexandria, Virginia will be sentencing President Donald Trump’s former campaign chairman. However, the sentencing will not include charges related to special counsel Mueller’s investigation.
Paul Manafort will be sentenced in relation to financial crimes he made while advising pro-Russia politicians in Ukraine. Manafort has admitted to running a covert, 10-year lobbying campaign and hiding millions in payments in secret offshore accounts.
Yet it is odd that after all this time Robert Mueller’s investigation hasn’t been able to turn up anything that could be added to Manafort’s sentencing.
In fact, presiding Judge T.S. Ellis III has ruled that there was to be no talk of Russian collusion whatsoever during the trial.
