As another Democrat jumped into the 2020 presidential election, Trump took time to mock his latest rival.
Trump was asked his opinion on Beto O’Rourke’s fledgling campaign and it seems like the verbal lashing was more than Beto can stand.
“Well I think he’s got a lot of hand movement, I’ve never seen so much hand movement. I said, is he crazy or is that just the way he acts?” Trump shared with reporters.
“So I’ve never seen hand movement, I watched him a little while this morning doing I assume it was kind of news conference, and I’ve actually never seen anything quite like it,” he continued. “Study it, I’m sure you’ll agree!”
While in Burlington, Iowa, reporters caught up with O’Rourke and offered him a chance to defend himself.
“Oh, did he? I have nothing to say to that,” O’Rourke meekly replied.
“I think people want us to rise above the pettiness, the smallness,” the former senator continued, “they want us to be big, bold, ambitious for this country. That’s what I’m focused on and that’s what I see here today in Burlington.”
If this is the kind of response that O’Rourke thinks is “big” and “bold,” he’s in for a rude awakening in a race against President Donald Trump.
