An old friend of President Donald Trump may be joining him as a leader of the people.
British Prime Minister Theresa May has announced her resignation due to mainly to an inability to deliver on Brexit.
This leaves the many speculating who will fill the position and currently signs point to U.S.-born British politician Boris Johnson.
Born in New York City to British parents, Johnson last lived in the U.S. when he was five years old. In 2016 he renounced his U.S. citizenship n response to a tax crackdown led by the IRS against the global earnings of dual nationals.
Previously Trump has said that, “Boris Johnson is a friend of mine. He has been very, very nice to me, very supportive,” speaking on Johnson’s behalf after he resigned from the position of Theresa May’s foreign secretary.
Even though Johnson has previously said the the likelihood of him becoming prime minister was on par with finding Elvis on Mars, the politician is currently the top pick among opinion polls.
While it’s early to call it could be a huge boon to have someone with a good history with the president leading the United Kingdom.
