Trump’s Idea For Border Wall

President Donald Trump, during his meeting with Congress on Tuesday, floated the idea of having his Southern border wall covered with solar panels.

Trump suggested that he could build a wall “40 to 50 feet high and covered with solar panels,” according to a report from Axios.

The energy generated from the solar panels could be used to pay for the cost of building the wall, Trump intimated, according to three sources in the story.

It is unclear how serious the president was about the proposal, but he appeared eager to discuss progress for the project.

“The wall will be a great help, and it will happen; believe me,” Trump said to reporters after the meeting.

The beaners will just break them.

      Exactly what I was thinking.

    • GoldenRudy

Then they will have the wrath of the Paris Accorders like High Priest Al Gore against them. Maybe a win-win.

How about some guard towers with MG42 machine guns in them or maybe the electricity from the solar panels can run some electric “Mini-guns”, Sweet!

    • GoldenRudy

Nah, maybe rolls and rolls of ribbon/razor wire on both sides of the fence. Have sensors woven in the wire so the Border Patrol can drive up in their A/C-ed trucks to repair the fence and remove the intruders. That way, no ACLU-er can claim the intruders were “murdered”.

They would be ON THEIR SIDE of the fence. Can’t shoot them in their own country.

  • W. Coyote

Is there going to be a wall on the northern border?

    • GoldenRudy

Gee, I thought Canada was and is a “paradise” already? Look who they elected up there. Why did so many Hollywood types say they were going to Canada if Trump was elected if Canada was not better than the USA?

      • W. Coyote

GoldenRudy-Good morning and thank you for your reply. I am thinking that if we are going to “secure the border” then we should secure all borders. I know for a fact there are a lot of Canadians in this country. I am not sure of their immigration status.

        • vladilyich

Ft. Lauderdale is about 30% Canadian and 50% of them speak French only. From November until April, about 30% of the people in Tampa/St. Petersburg are Canadian.

How about solar powered lasers to eliminate any heat source from entering from the south.

  • Bayside GolfClub

They could power a seriously electrified fence.. Or varmint lasers. Makes sense. Perfect sense..

  • myfordtruck

destruction of panels would be a problem

    • GoldenRudy

Then the Paris Accorders and the “Greenies” will be against them too.

  • C.Henry

Sounds good , as long as it will be making power , make it run to a sub station and then
electrify the whole thing ” No Trespassing High Voltage ” It will only take a few fools to
test it out !!! Two problems solved Free power & Fee border protection a win, win ….

Solar panels use rare earth elements, which (as they are named) are in short supply. There isn’t enough to go around. Not sure this is a viable idea. And then there is the problem of getting the electricity to people who can use it. Not that many people live on the border. That one isn’t quite as difficult to solve, but it still needs a solution.

  • Jake Monnett

Here’s the best wall ever. Build the wall 40ft. high out of 1/2″ rebar, now here’s the catch…electrify it Minimun voltage from the ground to 10ft.up, just enough to make it uncomfortable. The next 10ft, double the voltage. The next 10ft. triple the voltage. Believe me, you won’t have to electrify the top 10ft. Nobody want to get into this country that bad.

  • keepyourpower

I still like gators in the Rio Grande!

    • Jake Monnett

That water is so filthy, even the gators couldn’t live in it.

  • J. Ernst

IF SO….the panels better be IMPACT resistant. Because the rocks WILL fly.
In agreement therewith, these panels can operate all manner of anti-intrusion equipment.
Remember the “Minute Men” groups that volunteered to “watch” the border on private farms? What happened to their “organizations”?

  • vladilyich

It sounds like a good idea in writing…HOWEVER, The most sunlight comes from the south: the Mexican facing side. The panels will be shot out or broken with stones in less than a week. Since that’s the Mexican side, there’s nothing the border patrol can do about people sitting on their own side taking pot shots at the solar panels.

50 feet high isn’t high enough to keep those drug cartels from flying over in their choppers and delivering drugs to their pals on this side. Or bringing over migrants and other aliens. The U.S. tax payer will get shafted again.
